The Caribbean Area Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has just issued a communication, inviting all members of the region to unite their faith for the benefit of Puerto Rico. The letter suggests performing simple acts of service and special fasts as possible.
“In view of the situation, we invite you to unite our faith for the benefit of those who are suffering. This may include offering personal and family prayers, making special fasts and even performing simple acts of service wherever possible” emphasizes the letter.
Since the first two earthquakes occurred on January 6 and 7, more than 500 aftershocks have been felt that keep many people in uncertainty and anguish, to the point of sleeping outside their homes and being placed in tents for fear to the destruction that an eventual earthquake could bring. The last major tremor occurred this morning, with a magnitude of 6.
